Ardrana is a fantasy gaming world created by Dungeons & Dragons players John Proulx and John Ritskowitz in the mid 1980s, though nothing related to the world was published until 2003, when a transcript of a gaming session was published in Audyssey magazine; though the name Ardrana never appeared in this particular story, we now know thanks to this wiki, which was created by Proulx, that it was indeed an Ardrana story. According to the edit histories of essential pages, such as the main page and the Ardrana article, the wiki as we know it today was created in September 2007. John Proulx is a legally blind D&D player, and so are many of the people who play in the current gaming group; this is the most likely reason why the site does not have any images uploaded and there is no logo. Unlike most wikis used by fan communities, Ardrana is not available in other forms of media; to read the Ardrana wiki is to read Ardrana, with the exceptions of some of the more detailed stories being published in Audyssey; the story from the 2005 issue of Audyssey even mentions the name Ardrana, with no explanation as to what it means. But ever since the wiki came into existence, PCS Games has linked to it, so most fans of the stories that were in Audyssey likely know what Ardrana is now.
The gaming group is invitation only, and even for those who have been invited to the gaming group, keeping track of the story is the Dungeon Master's duty so only the people running the game have accounts on the wiki. The wiki features accounts of pretty much all the Ardrana stories, even the ones that existed before the Blind Gamers Group online. Ardrana fans often treat the various categories, found as subcategories of the Adventures category, as various generations, with Adventures of the Blind Gamers Group being the latest generation, the Shehen D&D Club stories being the first generation, and so on; as far as the order of the generations, this can be found using clues in the descriptions of the categories, but there are overlaps; as the Blind Gamers Group has been adventuring in Ardrana since 2003, adventures from other series have occurred simultaneously, though especially since the late 2000s decade, the Blind Gamers Group has been where all Ardrana adventures have been happening. The stories have been getting longer overtime; the Shehen stories are extremely short, while the John and Shelly solos, including the famous Conchita's Journey of Enlightenment story from the early 1990s are a bit longer, but the latest Blind Gamers stories are adventures of epic proportions, so the series has evolved over time. Along with reading Ardrana stories and reading about various Ardrana geography, history and characters, there are also general bits of information about races and facts from D&D in general, with the Ardrana wiki occasionally citing a D&D Monster Manual or even another gaming world such as Planescape or, on rare occasions, Forgotten Realms.
