Old Liberapedia was the original Liberapedia before the founder and only active bureaucrat disappeared. The remaining sysops moved Liberapedia to Wikia under a new domain name.
Unfortunately no one bought up the original domain name liberapedia.com. When it expired, a domain squatter took it over and it now hosts advertisements. For a while, search engines put the old site above the new one, directing visitors first to the abandoned and spammed wiki, then to the placeholder site, leading to confusion and possible loss of traffic and users. Although this situation has improved, the old site still ranks second on Yahoo as of August 2009. [1]
