In 2007, The Vault moved to Wikia, as the original host could no longer accept the constant attacks on the server by spammers and other attackers. Since the release of Fallout 3 in 2008, it became one of the most popular Wikia gaming wikis.
In November 2011, [[Fallout wiki - the vault|The Vault]] moved on to a different host and address under fallout.gamepedia.com, with both this host and the new site having similar and sometimes even identical content, with several old hands moving over to The Vaults new host. Those whwho remained within Wikia's variation took the name "Nukapedia", with both sites now developing largely independently of each other, although some contributors can still be found on both sites.
