Project Hosting on Google Code from Google provided a free collaborative development environment for Open Source Initiative (OSI) approved open source projects. It was available in a number of languages, namely: English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, and Taiwanese. Each project came with its own member controls, Subversion / Mercurial / Git repository, issue tracker, wiki pages, and downloads section.[1]

Google Code wiki used a custom wiki engine, based on MoinMoin.[2]
In March 2015, Google announced they would be closing down Google Code on 25 January 2016. All projects hosted on the site entered read-only mode on 24 August 2015, with the exception of certain Google-owned projects including Android and Chrome.[3]
