This Category: JAMWiki is either empty, or sparsely populated,
and needs to be 'populated' with articles, stubs (and / or other categories)
relevant to the subject matter of this specific category.

Include an article page in this category via one (or more) of three methods:
a. add JAMWiki in the appropriate field of its infobox template
b. 'tag' a word within the prose of the article, eg. {{tag|JAMWiki}}
c. add [[Category:JAMWiki]] at the bottom of its edit box.

JAMWiki, created and developed by Ryan Holliday is a Java-based wiki engine. JAMWiki uses the same syntax and many of the features of, and is visually similar to the now ubiquitous and highly popular MediaWiki engine; although it should be noted JAMWiki is not the same as the PHP-compiled MediaWiki. As detailed by the JAMWiki release archive, it was first available in June 2006. JAMWiki was released as free software ( FOSS) under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). Although JAMWiki interface was only available in the English language, JAMWiki software contained its own internal translation tool (restricted to admins), and due to its its standard encoding of UTF-8 unicode, internationalisation was available for up to 23 languages, including Chinese and Japanese.

The entry here on WikiIndex for the JAMWiki help and 'meta' wiki is JAMWiki.

In December 2013, it was announced that "Current development on JAMWiki is primarily focused on maintenance rather than new features due to a lack of developer availability. If you are interested in working on JAMWiki please join the jamwiki-devel mailing list".[1] In November 2014, a further announcement was made: "Active development of JAMWiki has ceased, and bug fixes and support will be limited at best. If you are interested in taking over management of JAMWiki please send an email to the jamwiki-devel mailing list".[2] The final appearance of the JAMWiki wiki site was November 2017.[3] As of August 2022, the JAMWiki software is however still available for download from the SourceForge website.
