Entropie ist die Wissensdatenbank und Notizblock der Studenten und Lehrenden des Medienhauses der UdK Berlin und im besonderen der Teilnehmer der Klasse Gestalten mit digitalen Medien und des Kurses Erste Hilfe für Datenreisende.
Jeder Student und Lehrende ist dazu angehalten, sich hier einen eigenen Zugang einzurichten (und dies möglichst unter seinem Realnamen).
Das System dient sowohl der Definition von allgemeinen Begriffen und Personen des universitären Daseins als auch der Dokumentation der laufenden Projekte und Kurse. Kursprotokolle, Ausleihinformationen, Öffnungszeiten, Preislisten der Caféteria - alles hat hier Platz.
Entropie ist ein Wiki und erlaubt daher jedem, den Inhalt und die Struktur mitzuentwickeln. Mehr Informationen zu Wikis im Allgemeinen kann man in der Wikipedia nachschlagen.
- Warum 'Entropie'?
Entropie ist die Maßzahl für Chaos bzw. Ordnung. Da es im universitären Bereich (wie in den meisten Institutionen) stets ein Wechsel zwischen Ordnung und Chaos bestimmend ist, scheint der Versuch der Selbstdokumentation wie Bestimmung der Entropie des Systems.
Dabei wird weder Chaos noch Ordnung als das Ideal vorausgesetzt. Kreatives Chaos und kreative Ordnung können stets richtungsweisend und positiv sein, wohingehend destruktives Chaos und destruktive Ordnung entsprechend erschwerend wirken können. Das Kreative zu betonen sollte die Aufgabe einer Universität der Künste sein.

Entropy ( DE: Entropie) is the knowledge database and notepad of the students and teachers of the media house of the UdK Berlin and in particular of the participants of the class designing with digital media and the course first aid for data travellers.
Every student and teacher is required to set up their own access here (if possible under their real name).
The system is used both to define general terms and people used at the university and to document ongoing projects and courses. Course logs, lending information, opening times, price lists for the cafeteria - everything has its place here.
Entropy is a wiki and therefore allows anyone to help develop the content and structure. More information about wikis in general can be found on Wikipedia.
- Why 'entropy'?
Entropy is the measure of chaos or order. Since in the university area (as in most institutions) there is always a change between order and chaos, the attempt at self-documentation seems like determining the entropy of the system.
Neither chaos nor order is assumed to be the ideal. Creative chaos and creative order can always be directional and positive, while destructive chaos and destructive order can have a correspondingly aggravating effect. Emphasising the creative should be the task of a university of the arts.
